Dr. Mark Foster
Mark has a particular interest in paediatric (children’s) dentistry. Mark has been a Consultant Dentist at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children since 1990 and mainly sees children in his dental practice.
He is also a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Western Australia.
In addition he treats children with complex dental problems, behavioural issues and both children and adults with physical or mental disabilities referred from the School Dental Service and other private dental and medical practices.
Mark has lectured extensively on dental trauma and sports dentistry and is the Dental Consultant to Sports Medicine Australia (W.A.), the Western Force rugby team and other sporting organisations. He is also an instructor for Sprig Oral Technologies and has participated in training courses locally,interstate and internationally for dental practitioners wishing to place EZ crowns in paediatric patients.
Mark was awarded a Fellowship from the International College of Dentists in 2007 for his services to dentistry.
Mark is member of the Australian Dental Association and abids by their Code of Ethics and has a current Working with Children accreditation.
Mark has competed in the Rottnest Channel swim as part of a duo team on four occasions and is a member of the Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club. He has been a volunteer dentist at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games, the World Swimming Championships, the Rugby World Cup and has lectured extensively both in Australia and overseas, including at the National Australian Dental Association’s Congress, International and European Academies of Paediatric Dentistry and International Association of Dental Traumatology on the topics of Dental Trauma, Sports Dentistry and the use of zirconia crowns in paediatric dentistry.
In 2011 he and his dental nurse Olivia competed in the Busselton Iron Man event. Mark is also a keen cyclist and is happy to talk about any topic that involves carbon fibre!
He is a Consultant Dentist at Princess Margaret Hospital’s dental department where he has been since 1990. He is a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Western Australia School of Dentistry were he is involved in teaching of the third and forth year dental students.
Mark was invited by the EZ-Pedo company in 2015 to train dentists wishing to incorporate the use of zirconia crowns in children's dentitistry into their practices. He has now helped to run courses in Australia, Europe and USA.
Mark is also a previous examiner for the Australian Dental Council in paediatric dentistry. This body is responsible for the registration of overseas trained dentists who wish to practice in Australia.
