About us
Dr’s. Mark Foster and the late Neil Burman established Castlegate Family Dental Care in 1989 and have been in their current location since 1992.
Dr. Michael Ang joined the practice in 2011 following the sudden and unexpected passing of Dr. Neil Burman.
Both are highly experienced general practitioners who offer a full range of dental services from their modern premises in the northern suburb of Woodvale. A friendly team of hygienists, dental assistants and reception staff supports them; two have been with the practice for over fifteen years.
Fully qualified and highly skilled Dental Technicians that are based in Perth are used to manufacture crowns, bridges, implants, dentures and orthodontic appliances. So you can be assured that the quality if of the highest standard.
Their goal is always to provide the correct diagnosis and advice with the aim that each patient achieves an optimum state of dental health, allowing them to function normally and be free of discomfort. Although all aspects of modern dentistry are offered, patients with more complex needs outside the scope of general practice are referred to dental specialists. This is to ensure that every patient is in receipt of the best possible care.

Mark Foster
Mark has a particular interest in paediatric (children’s) dentistry. Mark has been a Consultant Dentist at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children since 1990 and mainly sees children in his dental practice.
He is also a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Western Australia.
Currently, he is not accepting any new adult patients (unless they require dental treatment with sedation or under a general anaesthetic or they have special needs), but he is very happy to receive new child patients.
In addition he treats children with complex dental problems, behavioural issues and both children and adults with physical or mental disabilities referred from the School Dental Service and other private dental and medical practices.
Mark has lectured extensively on dental trauma and sports dentistry and is the dental consultant to Sports Medicine W.A., the Western Force rugby team and other sporting organisations.
Mark was awarded a Fellowship from the International College of Dentists in 2007 for his services to dentistry.

Michael Ang
Michael graduated in 2000 and has had extensive experience in both the hospital environment and private practice. He moved to Perth in 2011 following a successful career in Melbourne.
Michael has a particular interest in endodontics and uses the most up to date techniques and continues to attend professional education courses to further his abilities in this field.
Both Mark and Michael are members of the Australian Dental Association and abide by their Code of Ethics and have current Working with Children accreditation.
Our dental practice adheres to the Australian Dental Association’s guidelines on infection control.
